Leadership can be defined in many ways. For me, the best explanation of “What is Leadership” defined as: “Leadership is a process of social influence, which maximizes the efforts of others, towards the achievement of a goal” (Kruse, 2013). There are four components that are central to leadership: process, influence, occurs within a group context, goal attainment.
The process of leadership is a transactional event between the leader and the followers, rather than a feature or feature of the leader (Northouse, 2018). The term “process” relates to how a leader inspires his followers and is impacted by them. Leadership therefore becomes a participatory experience for everybody.
Influencing their followers and being a role model to them is a critical part of being a leader. It is concerned with how the leader affects followers and the communication that occurs between leaders and followers (Ruben & Gigliotti, 2017).
Leadership involves influencing a group of individuals with a shared purpose. This might be a small task force, a neighborhood group or a vast committee throughout the company. The leadership of one individual is to persuade another group to cooperate towards a common goal.
Leaders concentrate their attention on those who work together for a purpose. The emphasis on shared objectives provides leadership a fundamental ethical tone, as it highlights the necessity for leaders to work with supporters to achieve particular objectives.
