To understand the true colors of life, one should know about cultural differences and how it impacts people’s lives (Northouse, 2016). The problem of race and gender is not resolved yet in the united states. Overview of the united states’ experience shows that the group which is having social dominancy and proficiency is prominent in society. But due to this, dominant people consider themselves as God and just not ready to freely accept the diversity’s natural harmony. Over the last few decades, people started to take variety to some extent but not completely. Anyhow America has gotten better now but still saying that white and black opportunities are equal won’t be right.
I started from the last few years that I am educating organizations and people on how they should react to diversity and teach them to accept other people as equal. I worked hard to contribute my part in making the world a better place without racism and diversity. But I think I am wrong. While writing this, tears are in my eyes. I am shocked by the social injustices that are going on in the United States. My parents told me that we live in a free country where everyone has freedom to live and make their own decisions.
For instance, t women having trouble climbing up the cor-operator ladder, same the case with people other than white. On the other hand, a group is getting every opportunity quickly to excel in their careers. It is the cycle going from decades to decades that white people got higher positions and then hire people like them and not give others a chance. It is the reason why racism still exists (Northouse, 2016). But now, when I saw brutality and injustice going openly with blacks, I feel shattered.
I feel sad for some people who are racist and discriminatory against color. Because they never know the pain that black people face. How does it feel ‘driving while black’ and ‘walking while black’ when a person is living driving a nice car, and he pulled out from the car only because of his color. How disrespectful is this for a person? I don’t know exactly how I can make this world better, but I am trying to convey my part where I feel I can do something I do. I do want to stop the social injustice that is happening with non-white people.
Organizational barriers play a vital role in the diversity issue. The higher management takes these kinds of decisions to ignore minorities and their rights (PSU WC, 2020, L13). When leaders learn to a particular belief and avoid to think the broader perspective of their decisions on people’s lives, they lack to see the other side of the picture and make policies according to their beliefs without considering diversity. It is more than often cause trouble for their followers to follow up on the assigned tasks. Leadership must be aware of the negative consequences of their functions on the cultural orientation of the organization. Leaders need to include the goals that sensitize employees at various ranks and resolve diversity (Northouse, 2016).
