On Monday, March 16th 2020, after a week of spring break, Penn State, like so many other institutions, had its first day of remote, synchronous classes as a result of the looming threat of COVID-19. About an hour after my class ended that morning, I posted “Adventures in online ZOOM teaching #1” on my personal Facebook page. Two days later, I wrote “Adventures in online ZOOM teaching #2”. After receiving two comments on that second post, I reflected on my and my students’ privilege with regard to education and access. I decided to move the “Adventures…” to a blog and invite others to share their thoughts during this time so I could understand multiple perspectives of learning; my hunch was that everyone, no matter their vocation, was learning something at this moment.
