Make Us a Game Challenge
July 13-24
Over here at the Learning Factory, we’re on quarantine day number WHO KNOWS!!!! Yes, just like you we get bored. Don’t get us wrong, making this website, finalizing micro-credentials, and watching your submissions is loads of fun. Nonetheless, just like you, we are tired of doing the same thing every day. Oh, and did we mention we’ve been eating too much junk food. In this challenge, you have to design a game for us. We want to play with our friends and be active, so this game must be a sporty game for two to ten people, and the people must remain socially distanced (that’s six feet!). Also, to break this junk food addiction you have to use fruit somehow. To summarize, we want a sporty socially distanced game for two to ten people that utilizes fruit.
You should be going through a design process in your concept development, and we would like to see more than just your final prototype. Test your games and build upon it, modifying it to make it better and better. In your video and submission, we would like to see you making modifications as you go through trials of testing and designing. Also, make sure it’s fun!
Remember: we reward creativity. We want to see you having fun with this competition and coming up with ideas we’ve never seen before. The cooler and crazier, the better. Even if your game doesn’t have all the kinks worked out, we still invite you to show off your creativity.
Rules
There are none. You are only limited by your imagination. If you can dream it you can do it. We want to see what you and can do, so there are no limits. We love creativity, think outside of the non-existent box. Teams are allowed to compete together, but you will have to split any and all prizes.
Your Video
You will submit your innovation by sending us a video. We do not need a polished video with a polished invention. We want your design and your design process. Show us the modifications you made. Private or public link is fine, just make sure we can see it. Make sure it’s only 2 minutes long!
Safety
If you would not do it in front of a Learning Factory TA, do not do it, period. For example, things like fire, high-velocity pellets, unnecessarily sharp objects and the like should be avoided. Also, we want to play this game with our families, nothing that could hurt them.
