Any printed or digital materials that are promotional in nature require a U.Ed. number. This includes: annual reports; banners; calendars; catalogs; continuing education materials; course guides and promotions; fundraising materials; general informational pieces and viewbooks; handbooks; listserv promotional emails with graphics; all promotional publications in electronic format; maps; newsletters, magazines, and periodicals; posters and flyers; programs and invitations for events; schedules of classes; and recruitment brochures.
Materials that do not require a U.Ed. number include: certificates; classroom and/or instructional materials; forms; internal memoranda; text-only listserv emails; research papers; scholarly journals; social media graphics; student-produced publications; standard University stationery orders, such as letterhead, envelopes, and business cards.
