Presentation examines Holistic Personal Enhancement

Individuals interested in massive open online courses (MOOCs) are invited to “Holistic Personal Enhancement,” a presentation by Bill Sams, on March 20, 3:30–4:30 p.m., Foster Auditorium, 102 Paterno Library. The event is free and open to the public and can also be viewed live online (No log in is required.)

Sams, the former associate provost for Information Technology and chief information officer for Ohio University, will discuss his concept—Holistic Personal Enhancement— and how it encompasses the total development of a person and his or her organization with a balanced focus on core knowledge, just-in-time content knowledge and emotional intelligence skills, such as network weaving and digital wisdom. His concept recognizes and incorporates the transformational changes occurring in education driven by MOOCs and by technology.

The presentation is part of the Center for Online Innovation in Learning (COIL) Fischer Speaker Series, sponsored by Penn State World Campus and the University Libraries.
