Architecture students create library furnishings

One section of the Freshman Architecture studio (coordinated by Prof. Nida Rehman) spent the last several weeks designing and building two new furnishings for the Architecture and Landscape Architecture Library — a wall unit in the vestibule and some outdoor seating.

The students worked closely with the library staff and conducted research on library users. In addition, they  visited the “Art’s Critique of the Library” exhibit currently on display in the Special Collections Library to garner ideas for their project. The libraries supplied about half of the money for their materials. The impressive end result can be seen in their photos below.
