How to access Roo when you’re not at your work computer

By Ryan Johnson, technology training coordinator

Have you ever been at a Podium machine in the libraries and you need to access a committee space on Roo or your user space to access a file? You can access these files very quickly by following the steps below:

Capture(13)

1. Click the Windows Start Button.

2. Enter the directory path, or if you don’t know the exact path, enter the server name, as in the example below:

Ex.) \\roo.libraries.psu.edu

3. Hit Enter and a Windows Explorer window will appear.

Capture2(4)

4.) Now you can enter the shared folder that is used by many committees at the University Libraries. Or you could select the user folder and navigate to your shared space. Your shared space will be your Penn State User-ID.
