Eiche Library, more featured in PaLA College & Research Division blog

Two articles published last week in the PaLA CRD blog, “It’s Academic,”
discuss recent collaborations at the Eiche Library at Penn State Altoona:

“Five ingredients for successful collaboration” shares insights from Reference and Instruction Librarian Lori Lysiak’s collaboration with history lecturer Julie Rockwell. Lysiak and Rockwell worked together to launch a new course offering for Penn State Altoona that focused on food history. The innovative course featured food tastings, guest speakers from local farms and restaurants, and student-created regional cookbooks.

“Thinking outside the book” explains how the library staff worked with several faculty members to support new four-year-degree offerings in Rail Transportation Engineering and Kinesiology.

P.S. University Libraries Bonus Feature — Emily Mross, business librarian at Penn State Harrisburg Library, and Hailley Fargo, the University Libraries’ student engagement librarian, hosted the Zoom session “Fruitful Collaborations: Building Bridges to Connect Student Services” for PaLA’s Connect & Communicate Series on Jan. 10, 2018. The PaLA CRD blog also shared the information to access the recording, which also includes a link to their PowerPoint slides and handouts.
