Customer Service Tip: How to use customer service to drive a better customer experience

It’s not very common for customers to contact customer service when everything is going fine. No, it’s at times when something unexpected happens, situations like their order didn’t arrive
when anticipated, the product is broken, or instructions aren’t clear.

But no matter what the problem–major or minor–there’s an even bigger issue at hand. The customer didn’t want their day disrupted by this problem. Read more here.

 

Tech Tip: How to view what distribution lists (Groups) you belong to

With University Library Listservs (ULL’s) being retired and Distribution Groups becoming the new way to send emails to groups, how do you know which ones you are a member of or groups you own?

To view Distribution Lists in Outlook, click on your settings icon and type Distribution Groups in the search box.

Select Distribution Groups.  This will display all groups you are a member of or own.

The Future is Now, exhibit graphic

Mar. 11-Sept. 26, 2019, Exhibit: “The Future is Now.” Diversity Studies Room, 203 Pattee Library. Highlights from current and forthcoming equipment and assistance available to support students’ academic success from the Libraries’ Media and Technology Support Services and Adaptive Technology and Services departments.

Wednesday-Thursday, Sept. 11-12, University Libraries Open House. Self-guided tour stops, games, brief presentations and activities for students highlight the Libraries’ services. Faculty and staff are on hand to help students learn more about on-site and online resources available, and answer questions about the Libraries. 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at libraries locations throughout the University Park campus.
Thursday, Sept. 12-Thursday, Nov. 21, Fall Scholarly Communications Workshops. Featuring in-person workshops at Penn State Behrend, Penn State Scranton, and Penn State Harrisburg, as well as a full roster of Zoom workshops, including our popular trainings on complying with public access policies from federal agencies. Specialized workshops for thesis and dissertation writers, instructional designers, and scholarly authors are included.
Wednesday, Oct. 2. Docunight: Iran Via Documentaries.On the first Wednesday of every month, Docunight features a documentary film about, around, or in Iran, or made Iranians. All events are open to everyone, and all films have English subtitles. Co-sponsored by the Iranian Student Association and the University Libraries. 7 p.m. in Foster Auditorium, 102 Paterno Library, University Park.

Tuesday, Nov. 12, Penn State GIS Day. Open to faculty, staff, students, and the public, Penn State GIS Day offers events aimed to create geospatial awareness of geospatial technologies across disciplines, and serve as a way to connect with others who are using geospatial technologies.
