Football season has been over for a few months now; the cold weather has crept back into our lives, the honeymoon stage of our new classes has ended, so what fun is there to be had this weekend?
Here is breakdown of a few unique events happening this weekend, February 6th to the 8th, on campus and downtown that you might not have heard about:
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 Showing
Haven’t seen the latest installment of the Hunger Games trilogy of Katness versus the Capitol? Saw it and are dying to see it again?
Come out to the HUB’s Freeman Auditorium on Friday or Saturday for showings at 7 P.M., 9 P.M. or 12 A.M. Admissions are free with a PSU student I.D.
Men’s Ice Hockey Vs. Wisconsin
Come to our new and beautiful Pegula Ice Arena to cheer on our hockey team from inside the student section! Did you love sitting in the student section during the football games? Do you love Penn State athletics? Then this is the event for you.
The match-ups will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Friday and 2:00 P.M. on Saturday.
After the hockey team takes on Wisconsin, walk across the street to join the men’s basketball team for a match-up against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
The game begins at 4 P.M. at the Bryce Jordan Center
Swing Dancing
Have you ever been interested in learning the basics of the art of swing dancing? Then this event is for you!
Join the Swing Dance Club in the HUB’s Alumni Hall from 10 P.M. to 1 A.M. this Saturday for a swinging good time.
African American Music Festival
Presented by the School of Music, enjoy traditional African American music through a live quartet, trumpets, double bass and more.
The event will be held at 6 P.M. on Friday at the Esber Recital Hall. Admission is free.
