Not sure what to do after you’re accepted to Penn State? No worries, I’m here to help you! But first of all..CONGRATULATIONS! You’ve been accepted to one of the best universities in the world and one step closer to being a part of the largest dues-paying alumni association in the world!
At Penn State, we have accepted student programs for students that have been offered admission to the University. This semester, Penn State will hold numerous accepted student programs: February 7, 13, 14, 16, 17, 21, and 24; March 2, 3, 4, 5, 16, 17, 18, and 28; and April 3, 6, 7, 9, 11, 20, 21, 23 and 25. When you visit for an accepted student day, you will have the opportunity to meet the faculty and staff in the Shields Building, which is where Admissions and Financial Aid offices are located. After a campus tour and student panel session, you will have the opportunity to visit the specific college you wish to be enrolled. Within that part of the session, you will meet the faculty and staff from your college of choice. If you’re unsure of which college session you would like to attend, we have a Division of Undergraduate Studies (for undecided students) accepted student program session, as well as a general student sessions on select days.
For example, if you were to come to the College of Communications for the individual college sessions, you would hear a presentation from the college’s dean, Marie Hardin, hear from current communications students in a student panel, get a tour of the Innovation Park facilities (many broadcast and telecommunications classes are held there) and the office of Penn State’s student-run newspaper, the Daily Collegian.
You will also have the opportunity to eat lunch on campus, meet with tour guides and students and get a taste of what Penn State University Park is all about. The accepted student programs are for us as a university to welcome you to Happy Valley and our Penn State family. The goal is to make your transition into college as comfortable and easy as possible and by participating in the accepted student days, students get a sneak peek at what awaits them when it’s time for their first semester to begin. If you’re interested in attending an accepted student event, go to admissions.psu.edu/accepted.
So what are you waiting for? Come and visit us here in Happy Valley!
For the Glory…
