There are so many amazing things about Penn State that we can all go on and on about – believe me, the list is endless! But one of the things I was most nervous about when applying to Penn State was the town surrounding our campus. Coming from a bigger city, I was unsure about moving to a college town…
All types of questions ran through my mind! Would I be bored on the weekends? What was I supposed to do about getting around? Where am I supposed to hang out off campus?
Just because State College is a smaller city doesn’t mean our opportunities are minimal! In fact, they’re the exact opposite! I’m here to help show you all the cool things that downtown has to offer. So many surrounding places know students need places to unwind after long days of class. They’re all here to help us out!
There are tons of specials for students, whether they be discounts on a yoga class or student prices on meals. This last week, a couple friends and I headed over to the the famous Corner Room for Tuesday Night Bingo and half price appetizers!
YEP! Not only did they offer various gift cards as prizes…but there were HALF PRICE appetizers.
Anybody is welcome to play and there is no charge to play in a game! I mean it doesn’t sound like the most exciting time for a college student…but this is college, people!! It’s all about being open to new experiences. And by new experiences, I mean FREE PRIZES, HALF PRICE APPS, and a great way to relax with your friends!! There were tons of other people there, creating a really fun and competitive environment!
Unfortunately, I didn’t win anything. But I had such a great time hanging out and am hoping to become a regular at Tuesday Night Bingo (mainly for the mozzarella sticks.) I can’t wait to keep sharing my State College experiences with you!
