Like many colleges and universities, Penn State has a lot of dates and deadlines for our applicants to be aware of as they plan to submit and complete our undergraduate application. And if you’re like many seniors in high school, you have a full schedule and enough things to keep organized. In an effort to not add to your overall stress, we want to share with you here, a number of Penn State’s important dates and what they mean.

August 1, 2020 | Undergraduate Admissions Application becomes available | Students entering their senior year can access the application for the summer/fall terms |
October 1, 2020 | Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available | Earliest date you can access the FAFSA for the following academic year |
November 2020 | Millennium Scholars Applications encouraged submission | It is recommended for students to submit their Millennium Scholars application in early November for the consideration process to begin |
November 2, 2020 | Schreyer Honors College priority filing date | Applicants with completed applications to Schreyer Honors College will have an option to interview with the program |
November 15, 2020 | Early Action Application Deadline | Date by which Penn State Undergraduate Admissions recommends students apply for the greatest chance of admission to first-choice campus and academic program |
December 1, 2020 | FAFSA recommended filing date |
Students submitting their FAFSA by this date will have the best chance to be awarded the most federal financial aid. |
December 9, 2020 | Millennium Scholars Application Deadline | Last date for students to submit their Millennium Scholars application |
December 24, 2020 | Date Early Action applicants will receive their admission decision by | Students who submitted a complete application (online application, SRAR, and other required materials) will have a decision on their application. There are three possible decisions: offer, deny, or deferral of final decision to January |
February 1, 2021 | Priority filing date for international applicants | Latest date recommended for international students to submit their application to allow for enough time for review of application and processing of required paperwork |
February 2021 | Early awarding of student aid begins | Students with an offer of admission and a submitted FAFSA on file (with Penn State) will begin to receive their aid award packet |
May 1, 2021 | National College Decision Day | Students who have been accepted to Penn State and plan to attend need to accept their offer of admission in their MyPennState portal |
June 30, 2021 | Summer Session Start | Students admitted to the summer term begin their classes |
August 23, 2021 | Fall Semester Start | All students begin fall classes |
