Hey future Penn State students! I thought that maybe taking you through a day in my life will show you a little bit about what it is like to be a student. Friday is one of my busiest days. I start my mornings off with waking up at 8:30 a.m.! I’m not a morning person so waking up is the hardest part of my day. After waking up, I like to start my day with a morning shower. This gives me time to myself as I jam out to music and think about what I have to do that day. The first thing I have to do today is walk to the Bryce Jordan Center for a COVID-19 test. As a manager of the women’s basketball team we were not able to come back to practice like normal. We’ve finally reached a point where some of the managers can come and help out around practice. The first step into coming back was to make sure I am healthy. As a walked to the Bryce Jordan Center around 9:30 a.m. I was met by the athletic trainer to take my COVID test.
When I get back from the Bryce Jordan Center I start to make breakfast. I try to make breakfast every day because it is my favorite meal of the day. After breakfast, I get ready for my first class of the day. On Fridays I have Anthropology 216N and in that class we learn about sex and evolution. The class is on Zoom and is 50 minutes long. I make sure to take good notes on the PowerPoint the teacher goes over but also to write down important things he says.
After this class I have an hour break until my next class. I eat snacks in between both classes and get lunch from the HUB using our Penn State Go app. This app is used to order food ahead of time to avoid lines and a lot of people being in one spot. At the HUB there are a lot of options, but today I went for McAlister’s.
Next up for Friday’s agenda is BISCI 3 at 2:30 p.m. This is one of my favorite classes I am taking this semester! You might think this class would be a traditional biology class but it definitely isn’t. This class teaches you about the Earth and nature by building a relationship between you and the world around us. The class is on Zoom, is 50 minutes long, and is the last class I have scheduled for Friday.
After class I take some time to relax. I finally eat and watch the sunset at around 6:00 p.m. with my friends at the Old Main Lawn. Finally, after a long day, I come back to my room and do homework to end my day.
I hope you all enjoyed following me along on my day! Hopefully this gave you, as prospective students, a better idea of what your days could look like here at Penn State.
