On a more personal note than my previous posts about adventures and activities, attending law school is also on my bucket list. With a passion for politics, helping others, and english, I aspire to become a lawyer in my lifetime.
Why Law School is a Perfect fit for me
Beginning my freshman year of high school, I became a member of one of our high school’s political party clubs. I was immediately welcomed into a family of like minded thinkers, and the club introduced me to political concepts that I was unfamiliar with before. I remained a part of this club all four years of high school, and I became co-president my senior year. Throughout my time, I went on various field trips, attended meetings with school administrators, and helped with multiple campaigns. The most impactful effect of my political club was becoming involved in a congressional campaign my senior year of high school. I interned for a young candidate who was running to be a member of the United States House of Representatives. From the moment I became a part of his young and progressive campaign, my passion for politics and making a change in our world continued to grow. I would campaign for him by canvassing door-to-door, attending coffee shop events, and spreading information about his campaign on social media. His personality and desire to be a part of politics for all the right reasons inspired me to follow the same path he did into my college years. I am currently a political science major who enjoys reading and writing, and my next step is to work hard to attend law school.
Fears and Excitements
I am extremely passionate and excited about the idea of becoming a lawyer. I have always desired to make a difference in other people’s lives, and I believe that this a perfect fit in order for me to accomplish this. I am also excited to explore different areas of law that I may possibly work in. Although I am lucky to have figured out my desired occupation at a young age, this choice has not come without doubts and struggles. I cannot help but hear input from other people who believe that lawyers may be miserable during their long days of working. There have also been times where I have doubted that I have the ability and intelligence to excel in this field. However, my passion for this field and my drive to reach this goal overcome all fears.
As my journey at Penn State continues, I am thrilled to continue to expand my knowledge and apply myself in ways that will help me get to my bucket list goal of attending law school.
