Dramatic Plot Part 3 Exercise

Now that it is the last day of discussion I went back and read what everyone else heard for the dramatic plot exercise.  It seems the majority of the class visualized that there was a chase of sort going on.  The majority of the class also included in their post that there was an animal involved.  Another similarity I found was this was happening outside in nature not indoors.  Some differences that I read was not everyone decided if the main character was a boy or girl.  Some did not say at all and then some decided. In face one student even gave a name.  Something else that I noticed was the word flowers were mentioned.  I had mentioned in mine the music starts out peacefully in a nice setting which in my mind I saw pretty flowers.  Someone had posted they saw this plot in an inside museum.  It crazy how when we hear audio what it makes our mind think of.  For example, when I stated I saw flowers the scene of the Wizard of Oz came to mind when Dorthy was walking along all the poppy flowers.

End Credits

Next time I watch a movie and the end credits come on I am going to pay close attention to the music playing in the background.  Most end credits serve as a melody of the musical themes throughout the movie.

Ballet

Tchaikovsky’s ballets would have to be my favorite.  When I was a young girl the Nutcracker used to be my favorite.  I used to watch Barbie and the Nutcracker over and over.  In fact I think I still have the VHS tape.  This ballet is so peaceful and calm.  I love how everyone is in sync.

Here is an example of the Dance of the Sugar Fairy from the Nutcracker.

Module 7

Word painting came into play in module seven with the recording of the chariot scene.  The lyrics “The breezes play with cupids, the sky smiles at the happy return”  These lyrics paint imagery as the melody of the song takes off.

Module 6

I think word painting is so interesting.  As I listen to songs I paint pictures in my head.  A lot of songs bring back memories in my life.  For example, I remember songs and lyrics from my ninth grade dance in high school.  When that song comes on the radio I think of that time of my life.  Music and lyrics have so much meaning and nostalgia.
