Bonjour, Megan Robinson est mon meilleur amie pour la classe de Francais.
Above, I said that Megan Robinson is my best friend in my French class. Megan is the next person I would like to introduce as a new friend here at Penn State. She was the first friend I made in one of my classes and I am really glad that I did.
I have been taking French since the 6th grade, so this is currently my 8th year of French learning. I have never liked French, but I always needed to take it for language requirements. When I discovered that I had to take another semester of French here at Penn State, I honestly considered going somewhere else for college. I have never enjoyed learning French and I have always struggled with it as well. I was really not looking forward to taking it, especially since they were making me take level three due to the number of years I have taken in the past.
Since I started at the highest level needed for the Smeal College of Business requirements, I only had to take one more semester of French and I would be done forever. I was still pretty nervous as I am not confident in my French skills. Luckily, I became friends with Megan right away in this class. We sat next to each other randomly the first day, and we have been partners in class ever since. Megan and I are on the same level regarding our French skills, so we have struggled through tough exams and endless homework assignments together. We both love our professor, Dr. Halicki, who is absolutely hilarious and loves Pepsi more than anything.
Megan and I have bonded over our struggles in this class and our hilarious professor, and we soon began talking about other things and getting to know each other better. I soon learned that Megan is a huge Patriots football fan and she is from Virginia Beach, Virginia. We even discovered that we had some mutual friends too.
Megan is someone I really enjoy talking to and laughing with about our lack of French skills. Sometimes classes that you do not like can become a great experience because of the people around you. Despite this, after the fall semester is over, my french experience will be coming to an end for good, just as Megan’s will. We have taken French most of our lives, but everything must end at some point. Right?
Au revoir,
Lauren
