It’s What I Do

For years, I found that happiness is hidden within ourselves. Be able to know and be oneself is my definition of the perennial happiness. The fervent desire for me to learn the real definition of happiness is behind a birthday gift. The excitement from earning my favorite toys seems so transient and fake. The realization from the gift motivates me to find the happiness that ever abides.

Traveling is the first thing that comes to my mind that makes me who I am. Going to different places challenges me to get out of my comfort zone. To make it clear, my happiness comes from challenges. Through encounters with different people while traveling, I have had the chance to discover different ideologies and consider the correctness of my own established beliefs. Furthermore, surprises always come along on my trips. Not only the surprises make each trip unique and meaningful, it also developed me as who I am today. While in Chicago, a group of individuals surrounded my mother and I in the subway station and tried to rob us. As we walked to the police station, we tried to remain calm. This situation made me more mature about the reality of being challenged. Interacting with a diverse community, and the surprises along my travels have shaped me as a person and left a longing impact. In my passion blog, I am intended to bring the audience with me to revisit the most incredible places in the world and explore new ideas, shocking facts, and unforgettable experiences.

My second pursuit for finding true self can be traced to my urge to answer thousands of questions lingering in my mind. The studying of philosophy is an essential part of my life. Reading books often stimulates a series of questions that are difficult to answer. With little assistance from teachers in this aspect, I turned to philosophy. “Who am I” and “Why I am here” have become the most interesting topics I have been thinking about. I am eager to gain the insights into the truth of life and the existence of the surroundings. To fulfill my dream, every summer, I lived for months in Buddhist temples while learning different philosophies from different branches of Buddhism. Understanding those living around me lends me an eye to see the truth of human kind and myself. I figure that happiness does not come from materials, but through a learning that satisfies my wondering. My desperate passion to learn more about the truth of life becomes my character and way of living. The wisdom of philosophers handed down from generation to generation shed light upon my life journey and even enriches it with joy. And the questioning girl is who I am. My steps of discovering the truth will emerge with my passion blog. Through conversations and incidents, all pieces of knowledge and experience will link together to help the audience develop an internal strength and display a totally different view of Buddhism.

After all, true happiness is to know and to live the unique way of yourself. It is beyond language and feelings. It is so personal that you have to experience it yourself. It definitely takes courage and time to find and announce the true interest that is embodied within yourself. Traveling and philosophy make my life colorful and enlightened. This is what makes me, me and it is the potential wellspring of my life.
