Pro-life or pro-choice. Tax cuts or tax hikes. Public or private health care.

Sometimes it seems like our politicians have only two options to squabble over. And sometimes it seems like we have no choice in what they decide on, if they ever manage to decide on anything.

But this is not always the case. Each policy debated in our Capitol, each case which reaches our Supreme Court, each law passed by our local governments has so many factors and so many possible consequences. The only way we can ensure the right decisions are made is to educate ourselves on the policies, and pick the stances which seem the most logical, and the most beneficial. And then the key part: do something about it.

I am still working on the first stage. For the past two years, I have been struggling with my own political identity. Through this blog, I will explore some aspects of highly contested public policies, and pick a stance that makes sense to me. I hope you will read my thoughts with an open mind, and come to some conclusions of you own.

Sometimes it seems like the majority of Americans are trapped under the bell curve, trapped by their own moderate beliefs in a storm of radical options. I plan on breaking free of this feeling, supporting my own beliefs, and my own political party: The Centrist Party. Are you?
