Laser ablation 4.0 is the 4th pulsed laser deposition (PLD) tool build by our group and will be by far the most advanced. This instrument is currently under construction and will include a automated 6-target carousel with glide functions to optimize target utilization, a 1000 °C capable manipulator, a target exchange function without breaking vacuum, and RHEED. The tool is designed for high entropy materials preparation and will be dedicated for MRSEC research in IRG2. We anticipate that the system will come on line in late January or early February 2021.  We will be posting photographs to update construction!  The main system components will be provided by NBMD designs, and the system will resemble their flagship systems.
