Saeed S. I. Almishal

Saeed earned a dual degree in Mechanical Engineering, receiving his BSc from The British University in Egypt and his BEng from London South Bank University in 2019. He went on to complete an MSc in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Computational Materials Science at Penn State Harrisburg in May 2021. Following this, he joined Penn State MATSE to pursue his PhD, which he successfully defended in December 2024. After completing his PhD, Saeed transitioned to a research professor role, continuing his work with our group. Saeed works on the thermodynamics, synthesis, and emergent functionality of novel disordered materials and high entropy oxides (HEOs) in bulk and thin film as part of Penn State MRSEC IRG2 and leads our ceramic factory. He also investigates transport properties, electronic behavior, and magnetism in strongly correlated disordered oxides and across interfaces. Overall, Saeed’s primary passion lies in uncovering the relationship between crystalline disorder and material functionality.
