Oakley Airwave

A New Look

In preparation for the winter that has quickly crept up on us, Oakley has introduced a stunning new set of technologies into their latest model of snow goggles.  The Oaklet Airwave is their newest frame loaded with several high-tech features to revolutionize the world of skiing and snowboarding. Embedded behind the lens of the goggles, lies a small HUD (Heads Up Display) which stimulates looking at a 14 inch TV screen from approximately 5 feet away.  The display provides the rider with GPS location tracking and bluetooth connectivity along with an accelerometer, barometer, heart monitor, and gyro sensors.  This laundry list of devices provides the rider with realt-time information analysis of speed, distance, airtime, and even heart rate during the descend down the mountain.

These goggles also have the ablility to stream phone calls and text messages directly to the display, making sure that you will never miss a call or text again from your friends trying to locate you on the mountain.  The Airwave Goggles run at a high price, about 600 dollars, but considering it’s revolutionary steps it has made in the skiing and snowboarding industry, it would appear to be well worth the money.
