During the 6-week program, teachers engage in research in a materials research lab at Penn State University. Additional activities include materials and nano-science workshops, scientific seminars, notebook and safety training, and weekly group meetings for discussion. Additionally, a particular focus on “sustainability” related connections to the science laboratory will be incorporated into these activities. The summer program culminates with a symposium where teachers present their accomplishments via a 5 minute presentation and a poster.
