General Books
- Dan Abel and Robert McConnell, Environmental Issues: Looking Towards a Sustainable Future. 4th edition, Pearson, 2012. This is the recommended (but not required) course text. It’s especially helpful for parts I and II of the course and contains many relevant examples.
- Donella H. Meadows, Thinking in Systems: A Primer, Chelsea Green Publishing, 2008. Especially relevant to parts II and IV of the course.
- Lawrence Weinstein and John A. Adam, Guesstimation, Princeton University Press, 2008. Great resource for learning about order-of-magnitude estimates of the kind needed in this course.
