The Power of Organizing
College is a big adjustment and it can take some time to adapt. A big thing for college students is to be organized. It can take time to be organized and it will help you in many ways. Not only college students should be organized, everyone needs to have good organizational skills. Having good and strong organizational skills can give you the advantage and can help you with your job. While listening to the Ted Talk, “The Power of Organizing” by Betsy Hoover, I learned a lot about being organized and what organizing really is. In the talk she talks about a problem that she helped a community solve by using organizational skills.
How to Build Your Organizational Skills
Building organizational skills is very important and you need to put your mind towards it. Everyone has different methods of being organized and they may have an every day routine to help them. You need to come with a plan and know the end goal. In the Ted Talk, Hoover talks about she is obsessed with community organizing. She wants to better the community and she plans changes to make that happen. Building organizational skills can take time and a lot of practice. The more practice the better, you want to gain more experience.

Plan/ Organize Your Thoughts When Planning
When Hoover decided to help the community out with the project, she had it planned out. She came up with an organized plan to better the community. You meet with the people/ members in the group and come up with steps for your plan. When working in a group, you want to be very organized so everyone knows what they need to do.
Planning Ahead
Planning is a big part of being organized. Hoover was really big into organizing the community. Hoover along with others would plan to make improvements and changes to the community that they were in. Making big changes could take a while to go through and you want to take your time so its perfect. Solving problems can be very difficult, you want to break it down into steps. You never want to jump right into a big project, take the time to plan and organize your thoughts.
What I Learned
This Ted Talk taught me many things about being organized and how important organizational skills can be. You always want to come up with a plan before you do something big. Hoover had a plan and it was a well organized plan. You want to use organizational tools and techniques when planning something big. I really enjoy listening to Ted Talks and I learn something new each time. Ted Talks are a good way to learn more about something and I really like how the person on the stage experienced it all that they talk about.
Personally I found this Ted Talk really interesting and helpful. I learned some new techniques and things that can help benefit me now and in the future. Organization is a very important factor and it can help give me the upper hand in life.
