For my next location, we’re gonna head way up into Canada! Within the mountains of Alberta is a town called Banff where you can find Banff National Park. This is actually a place I have been wanting to visiting for a while. My aunt and uncle visited this place on their road trip last year and have told me what an amazing time they had and how they’d love to take me there someday. The town itself hosts lots of festivals and competitions year-round, like the Lake Louise Ski World Cup, the Banff Marathon, the Banff Craft Beer Festival, the Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival, and plenty more!
Banff National Park is home to two beautifully blue lakes, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Both of these lakes become very busy during the prime seasonal months of May to October and so it is highly recommended to plan ahead when looking for lake time. The town is a a bit of a resort town so don’t be surprised when you find plenty of resorts, however, if that’s your go-to type of lodging, go for it! You can even find resorts along Lake Louise! As for other lodging options, there are hotels and inns, campgrounds, RV parks, and even backcountry lodges…pretty much any option for lodging is available!
One of Banff’s top attractions are its hot springs located up in the Rocky Mountains! These hot springs are also found in Jasper and Kootenay national parks, as well. Reservations are not required nor available for the hot springs but, due to covid, there have been some new regulations added for safety measures and it is closed until further notice. Once, it reopens, though, you’ll be sure to find me there!
Like all of my other chosen locations, Banff National Park provides lots of outdoor activities too, especially hiking! You can find an extensive and thoroughly detailed list of day hiking trails in the Banff area at this link. There is also horseback riding, cycling, boating, bird watching, skiing, fishing, geocaching, ice skating, scuba diving, snowshoeing, wildlife watching, and more activities to spend your time doing. I think it is safe to say its not possible to be bored in Banff!
I hope you enjoyed a glimpse into Banff National Park and the town of Banff, Alberta, Canada!

I went to Banff National Park last August and I absolutely loved it! My advice is don’t waste your time with the hot springs. It was just a pool that was stinky and had a lot of people.
