The on-campus food at Penn State is pretty good. The HUB has a lot of options if you are willing to spend a couple extra bucks. West is known for its soft, fresh-baked, doughy cookies that complement whatever meal you are eating. Redifer has a lot of A La Carte items like the Panini, sushi, and Mexican food. Pollock always has a wide variety of buffet style or make-your-own food items that could please anybody. Regardless, sometimes we Penn Staters need a little something extra.
Dessert is an important meal around here. Whether you are up late studying, out and about in the evening, or just want to go for a short walk with some friends, Insomnia Cookies is the place to be. They rarely have a long line, but their cookies would be worth the wait if there was. Always fresh-baked and warm, these cookies get addicting and the next thing you know, you ate five. My favorite way to get Insomnia is having a study group with a couple of friends, and then ordering delivery. They will bring you cookies right to the door to your hall or apartment building, and you just simply pay then enjoy. It is a short and perfect break from a long study session!
Maybe cookies aren’t your thing, but you still like sweet and sugary foods? The Diner downtown is perfect for you. They serve the famous Grilled Stickies, and until I tasted them I did not believe how good they were. I would recommend them as a tasty breakfast or anytime you have some time to spare and would like a snack. These Grilled Stickies can be compared to cinnamon rolls in the shape of breadsticks. I have gone twice in the past week, and both times were in the evenings to have meetings for group projects. Again, the delicacies around Penn State are great for studying and just to enjoy. Everyone should take the time to visit The Diner and Insomnia Cookies and enjoy what they have to offer!
