Project Abstract

As the technology developed, advanced materials are required to make different products. Here, we get to know the phrase “smart materials”. It means the materials can be manipulated to respond to certain signals. Since they are controllable, scientists tend to find out the unique properties of each material and apply sometimes stress, electricity, or temperature to the material to simulate it to control it. After a brief introduction of the concept of smart materials, now talk about the project Hybrid dielectric elastomers for uses in soft robotics. Our main target is to make a smart polymer called zwitterionic polymer as the basic material of the robotics. This zwitterionic polymer has a special atomic arrangement that gives it the property that can respond to the electric field.
