Project Abstract
Space debris has been a growing threat due to potential collision risks with space missions, and this threat is bound to increase. Many space agencies have developed solutions to tackle the issue, ranging from tether nets to robotic arms. Our research focuses on a preliminary design of an active debris removal vehicle that focuses on capturing medium-sized debris. The propulsion system and capturing mechanism design are the core of our research, and further improvements have to be made to enhance the effectiveness and durability of the system.
