Hugh Jackman, More Like Hugh Back Man
Greetings Marvel Heads!
This week has certainly had its ups and downs. Yet again, I find myself asking will the MCU ever find its way back to where it was? At this point, I can’t tell. Marvel seems to know how to do two things: excite us mercilessly and find a way to smash our hopes and dreams. One second I’m on Cloud 9, overly hyping up the MCU to the point where I’m even convinced they can improve. Another second I’m back in a pit of despair, missing the magic of the good old days. Either way, I’m here to break it all down for you. It’s News-makin Time!
This Week’s News
I can’t believe it! The Hugh Jackman. The Master of Acting. The Wolverine, is back! In a recent video posted on twitter (WATCH IT), Ryan Reynolds revealed that Hugh Jackman was returning to the MCU as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. Although fans have been pleading with Jackman to reprise his role one last time after 2017’s Logan, the actor has expressed no interest in returning. Until now.
It’s no secret that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have always had chemistry. Their constant jokes towards each other and their playful rivalry have taken over social media and appeared numerous times in both the Deadpool movies. The actors are actually very good friends in real life and are constantly teasing cameos of their most popular characters. However, they’ve never had an opportunity to perform with each other at their character’s primes; X-Men: Origins was not Deadpool’s prime and anyone who tries to argue against this is crazy. But this video brings hope! It seems that Jackman isn’t just returning for a small cameo, but a major role in the next Deadpool film. Seeing as both characters are mutants from a similar universe with weird ways of expressing their rage, this pairing could be the next No Way Home moment for fans. For those fans worrying about how this will effect Logan‘s legacy, I wouldn’t be too worried. We are in the multiverse stage of the MCU so whose to say we will see that exact version of Wolverine? Either way, I’m excited to see what’s in store even if the movie is two years away.
She-Hulk Episode 7 Non-Spoiler Review
On the off chance of sounding like a broken record, She-Hulk has been disappointing. Yes, the plot has evolved slightly and I finally seem to know where this show is going, but not enough has happened to change my opinion. This episode is more of the same. She-Hulk meets some new clients, struggles with her dating life, and ends up resolving the issue in a not-so-comedic way, even if it was meant to be comedic. The acting is subpar, the CGI is subpar, and my love for the show is flying away faster than Falcon chases Captain America’s reputation. The episode was quick and didn’t really change much about the series. I know, why so many filler episodes? Well, when your script is just that bad, filler episodes tend to show up. At least we got a free comic out of it though (see this link) which is the only good aspect I’ve gotten from the show.
This blog post was really well written! I think that you captured the readers attention but didn’t write too much to where it was boring or readers lost interest. I noticed you added pop culture references like suggested in chapter 4 of the Flair book. I really appreciate the pop culture references and I know a lot of my friends who really like marvel – I’ll have to show them the blog and hopefully they’ll get a laugh out of it!
I was immediately attacked by an awful pun, so great job there! I’m not a big Marvel fan, but I can tell that there are some references in here, even if I can’t understand them personally. I do, however, love old horror films, so I’ll definitely be watching Werewolf by Night, even if I won’t fully be able to appreciate the universe.
