XG Mock Data Challenge Workshop – 2024

Purpose and Scope


We are pleased to announce that the first CE-ET Mock Data Challenge Workshop will be held in person at Penn State’s Institute for Gravitation and Cosmos from June 10 to 11, 2024.

  • Dataset Presentation: Introduce and present the mock dataset to the participants, providing insights into its scope and significance.
  • Data Access Tutorial: Conduct a tutorial on how participants can access the data effectively, ensuring a seamless and productive engagement with the provided dataset.
  • MDC Presentation: Showcase beginner and expert challenges, ensuring a seamless and productive engagement with the provided dataset. These challenges serve to
    1. Guide the development of new algorithms for efficient detection and parameter inference.
    2. Assess the computational resources needed for the full exploration of the science potential of next-generation detectors.
    3. Foster a collaborative community of researchers ready to explore the Universe through this innovative observational window.
  • Organization and Future Meetings: Discuss the organizational aspects of the workshop and outline plans for future meetings, fostering sustained collaboration and knowledge exchange among participants.
  • Publication Plans: Present plans for publications resulting from the workshop, ensuring valuable insights and findings are disseminated within the broader scientific community.
