I am a fifth-year dual PhD candidate in Political Science and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Penn State University, with a focus in American Politics and Political Methodology. Prior to beginning my graduate studies, I received a B.A. in Political Science and History in May 2018 from Penn State University. I received my M.A. in Political Science from Penn State University in May 2020.

My research focuses on both gender and state politics, particularly in executive offices and statewide elections. My dissertation examines the relationship between candidate quality and candidate identity, especially in understanding the differential expectations of quality, experience, and characteristics across office types and candidate gender, race, and ethnicity.
