How to Apply

We especially encourage applications from advanced undergraduates and recent B.A. and M.A. graduates from diverse cultural, economic, geographic, and ethnic backgrounds who are interested in pursuing graduate studies in the fields of languages, linguistics, literatures, and cultures.

To apply, submit a one-page, single-spaced cover letter as a PDF by Friday, March 31st, 2025, to MentoringfortheFuture@psu.edu using the subject line “Mentoring 2025 Application”.

Make sure to include the following in the letter:

  • Your academic interests in graduate studies (i.e., what kinds of programs you would be interested in applying to)
  • Previous experience (if any) with studying languages, linguistics, literatures, and cultures
  • Your commitment, interest, or experience with diversity in academic settings
  • Any personal experience you believe might be relevant
