Overall, I would definitely say that I have enjoyed RCL. It has been unlike any English class that I’ve had before, but I think that it has been a very solid class that will help me a lot in the future. One of the things that I have liked most is the emphasis on presentations and speaking. I have always struggled with presentational speaking, but I feel that over the course of this class I have developed more as a public speaker and learned some useful skills that I will be able to implement whenever I need to speak in public in the future.
I think that one of the things that I struggled most with in this class was the analysis required by most of the projects. I feel like I was always sort of right on the edge of being exactly where I needed to be in terms of my analysis, but something was constantly eluding me and preventing it from being just right. I think that in the future I will need to spend more time developing my thoughts on a particular subject or topic before I really start to get into it in order to make sure that I am properly analyzing it to the best of my abilities.
As for the blogging, I have enjoyed it for the most part. I’ve never done anything like it before, and I feel that it is a very good creative outlet that lets me express myself in a completely free-form and self-directed way, which I have never really had before. That said, I don’t think that I will be able to continue my passion blog topic. Though I still find the topic interesting, it simply requires too much work to maintain and at this point I have exhausted all of the major subjects that I want to discuss. I’m excited to find a new topic for the next semester and continue blogging!
