Girls Inc. Is Running a PSA About Empowerment During the Super Bowl
This article in AdWeek written by Diana Pearl talks about Girls Inc. running a PSA during the Super Bowl about empowerment. The organization partnered with CBS Cares for this announcement. Girls Inc. says, “The PSA shows girls that when they are confident and work together, they can succeed at the highest levels.” The president and acting CEO of CBS seems excited to work with Girls Inc., advocating for young girls in finding their strengths and utilizing their abilities. It looks like the advertisement is truly showcasing Girls Inc. core values and messaging for the Super Bowl viewers.
When I saw this article, I was super excited that Girls Inc. will be able to share their mission and values to such a large audience. An advertisement during the Super Bowl is a huge deal, so it is awesome that Girls Inc. is able to partner with CBS Cares this year. I think this is a great opportunity and something very beneficial for the organization. Being the public relations professional for Girls Inc. (for this article and our project), I think what they are doing is useful and will be profitable for their organization. Pairing girls empowerment with a sports event (like partnering with FOX Sports as well), clearly shows what that the organization is striving for and will hopefully gain them attention in the future. I am curious to see if Girls Inc. sees any immediate benefits from this PSA, such as social media engagement or visits and donations on their website.
