The Effect of Music

 When I’m stressed out or upset, one of the first things I do is put in my headphones and turn on some music. After just a song or two, I feel like I’ve escaped out of reality and my mood dramatically changes. I think all of us would agree that music has some kind of therapeutic effect. Even when I’m feeling content, I feel the need to listen to music. It’s so moving and it has the ability to make us feel a wide range of emotions. Moderating Philosophy

As we discussed moderator training in class, I thought of how I would be as a moderator. As I did this, I first thought of what my strengths as weaknesses would be. I figure that my way of moderating is going to be more laid back but I also don’t want it to be too laid back. I know that I won’t have an issue with taking over the deliberation or choosing sides but I also want to be a good moderator. It seems as though we’ve been stuck in cold, gloomy weather for way too long. And it’s probably a good thing that spring is right around the corner because this winter weather we’ve been having has a tendency to negatively affect our moods. Seasonal Affective Disorder is a condition that causes the individual to find that their moods are strongly effected to the changing of the seasons. Cost of Public Education

It seems as though everything is rising in price these days including education. I’m completely shocked looking at how much I’m going to owe in tuition fees when I graduate. Can the cost of education get any higher? Let’s take a look at public education at the K-12 level. The total overall costs of public education have risen dramatically over the last century and I’m going to assume that this awful trend is just going to continue until the end of time.
