While the last blog post talked about the wonderful yummy food of Epcot, this post will discuss the attractions that you can do in Epcot. When I first started going to Epcot, there were not many rides or attractions to do. When I was younger, Epcot was my least favorite park because all you could do was eat. Now Epcot is by far my favorite park because I can eat… yeah make it make sense. Nonetheless, Disney World has really picked up speed with Epcot making it more enjoyable for younger kids with the rides, and also enjoyable for the adults because of drinking around the world (obviously). Epcot is currently planning to open a Moana-themed walkthrough attraction called the Journey of Water on October 16th, which is next week! Epcot also can compete with Magic Kingdom for the place where you can see the most Disney princesses. Epcot always has a plethora of princesses to meet all throughout the day. Now… let’s get to the exciting stuff, the rides and activities. In Epcot there are eleven rides, let’s talk about them and why they are my favorite rides at Disney World.
Spaceship Earth
Four words, the big white ball. Yep, there is a ride in the iconic Epcot ball and it is called Spaceship Earth. This ride is actually quite educational as it talks about how the world came to be and the different generations within the world coming to be, like the dawn of humankind to modern times.
The Seas With Nemo and Friends
This ride is mediocre at best. It is a really old ride but a cute one. The ride is as simple as you go and pretty much see what it would be like to swim with fish like Nemo. The ride is cool because it does have a real aquarium in it
Soarin’
This is my mom’s favorite ride and it is actually such a cool ride. In this ride you act as if you are flying over different regions of the world. Not only is it super cool to see different places, you actually feel like you are flying over them, and oh you can also smell what you are flying over like ocean water or oranges from an orange patch.
Living With the Land
Another simple ride at Epcot. This ride basically talks about the relationship of humans and the land that they live on while being on a boat surrounded by plants that they grow and use at Epcot.
Journey Into Imagination With Figment
This ride recently started getting more popular but has been at Epcot for as long as I can remember. This ride has always been amazing. It has a purple dragon, Figment, who is basically a Figment of your imagination. He takes over a “tour” that is going over for your senses and has a lot of fun showing you your imagination and what it can do.
Mission: SPACE
Please do not go on this ride if you get motion sick easily. This ride is also self explanation because you are acting as if you are in a spaceship going to space.
Test Track
This ride you get in a car and go through a vehicle that is going through automobile testing. This ride is a high intensity ride that is so fun! You then get to go outside of the building and go 65 miles and hour around the outdoor track.
Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros
This is another boat ride that basically takes you around “Mexico” with the Three Caballeros.
Frozen Ever After
People go nuts for this ride (me). No but seriously this ride is so adorable and fun. It is another boat ride but it tells the story of Frozen. The waiting area for this line is also the best.
Remy’s Rataoulle Adventure
This ride is another Epcot favorite and it is one of the newest. It is a trackless, 3D ride and you act as if you shrink down to a rat. This ride is intense because you are basically a rat running around the kitchen like in Ratatouille.
Guardians of Galaxy Cosmic Rewind
This is the newest ride at Epcot and a fan favorite. It is a high speed adventure through space with music from the movie.
I think I said in my last comment that I thought Epcot was my favorite Disney Park, but the main reason for that opinion is because of the rides! My favorite ride is either the one in the Epcot Ball or the one with Figment. I went to Disney with my high school marching band, so going through the figment ride at night with my friends was one of the hardest times I’ve laughed in my life! I also did Mission: SPACE, and I consider myself to be strong in the stomach when it comes to roller coasters, but I may or may not have had to sit down for a little while after that one.
Hi, Miranda! I had the opportunity to visit Disney World with my school orchestra this past February, and after reading this post, I want to go back so I can go on more rides in Epcot! We only had a few hours in the park, and while I did get to sample food from most of the countries, I didn’t dedicate as much attention to the rides. I only went on Mission Space (the green track, of course), and, I must admit, it wasn’t all that exciting. And although I didn’t get to go on the Frozen ride, I did go to the meet-and-greet with Anna and Elsa, and they both signed the shirt I was wearing! If I go back to Epcot, I definitely want to check out the Ratatouille ride and Test Track (I tried to get onto Test Track when I visited but, unfortunately, the ride shut down just as I got to the front of the line).
I loved reading this post, specifically when I got to the part where you highlighted the ride Soarin’. That ride will forever be engraved in my head because the sensory aspects Disney uses to make you feel like you’re actually flying over the places, animals, and in different weather conditions. It is so cool! I definitely agree with you about how you love Epcot because of the food because same!
