The most prominent example of incorporating learner diversity into instruction within the classroom is through a Black History Month mini unit. Throughout the month of February our class focused our attention on the contributions of black individuals to our society and the entire United States.
Upon learning about each of the seven influential individuals, we completed a corresponding art activity of which they created a version of their different action plan for how they will spread kindness throughout our classroom and world. These activities emphasized the importance of equality, kindness, and accepting others just the way they are.
