Welcome to my blog!

Last semester, I focused on health and fitness because it was a big part of my everyday life and something I was very passionate about (obviously!). But, in the midst of my fitness journey and trying to inspire others to take on that journey as well, I sort of lost myself in the process and forgot to take time and appreciate all that I have accomplished so far, instead of focusing on the long way I had to go in order to reach my, what seemed to be, unreachable goal.

So, for this semester I decided to write a blog about all the good that has happened in my week and look at the positives. I want to write down everything that I have achieved in that week and document it. This will help me to continue on my fitness journey, but also step back and realize how far I have come and to appreciate everything I have in my life.

To start off for this week, the biggest positive is that I finally finished rush and the stress is all over! Finding a place where I feel as if I belong and meeting so many new girls was such a great experience and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me. They always say you end up where you’re supposed to be, and I truly believe that. I think joining a sorority was definitely the best decision I could have made, especially because I was so hesitant on it.

Another really great positive for this week is that I started to see the results I’ve been waiting to see at the gym. This helped to really boost my confidence and want to work even harder to achieve greater results. It has taken me a while to get here, and to see that all my hard work is finally paying off is so rewarding and such an amazing feeling. This has definitely pushed me to continue to work hard and even though it will take some time, if I keep with it, I will achieve my goals.

Lastly, this week I set up my calendar and wrote down everything that I have due coming up. This might seem small and as if it shouldn’t be a positive of my week, but for anyone who knows me, I’m an extremely big procrastinator and creating this calendar and getting myself organized is a huge helper when it comes to getting work done. I have been on top of all my work this past week and it has actually made me feel really good and has motivated me to actually get more work done, even a few days before it’s due!

It’s the small things in our everyday lives that create these positives for us, and if we look right past them they just get lost. This is why taking a few minutes each day, or in my case each week, to write down a few positives that happened, even if you’re day was absolutely terrible, it will help you to have a better outlook on life and to take a step back and realize you have so much to be grateful for and life isn’t so bad after all.

  1. I love the positive tone displayed in your blog! I also went through the rush process, so I feel you on how stressful and mentally draining it was. Also, it is so awesome when you finally see a positive change from all the work you put into at the gym. Congratulations and great job! I also feel so much better with a to do list and having all the tasks I need to get done right in front of me. I’m excited to read more of your posts in the future.

  2. Molly, this premise is wonderful! Especially with the ways life has changed for the worse in the last year, it is nice and very encouraging to hear a the more joyful stories of everyday life.

  3. I love this idea, Molly! Especially during such stressful times, it is easy to forget about the positive things that have happened because they seem so small in comparison. This blog seems like a great way to practice mindfulness, so I’m excited to see you continue on your journey this semester. This first post has definitely already inspired me to strive to be more positive in my everyday life!
