Environmental Blog

One idea that I have for this blog is to research and post about different projects that could be added to our campus to increase its sustainability. I would focus on residence halls and I may even contact parts of the administration or organizations like Eco Reps to see what they are trying to implement. This way some weeks, I could feature what is happening on campus and some weeks, I could talk about what could or should happen on campus. I was also thinking of doing some posts on other universities that are known for their sustainability and see what they are doing successfully within their community.

Equestrian Blog

For this topic, I was thinking about sharing “insider” tips and tricks about the horse industry. I think that equestrianism is a very underrepresented sport and it may be interesting to share some of my knowledge about something that the general public may know very little about through blogging. I could gear this blog towards a public that is generally curious and speak about the sport more generally or I could be a little more specific and do more a day in the life of an equestrian. I could also talk about the journey from how to get from the very first lesson to a competitive and advanced rider and horse person. I could also do more feature posts that are less of a continuation blog and more about specific topics like: “Why aren’t there seasons to this sport?”, “Many professional equestrians are men, but where did they come from?”, or “Is this really a sport… or a cult?” If there are any other ideas types of blogs that may sound interesting within this broad category, please let me know in the comments below.
