Clapping Music

Before this module I had no idea that clapping music was a real thing.  Not only is it a real way of performing but it is considered a percussion ensemble.  After learning about this I went and watched some clapping music performances and here was one I enjoyed.

  1. This clip is pretty awesome. If you listen to it with your eyes closed, it almost sounds like River Dance style tap dancing.

Performances like this remind me of when my daughter was in high school and at one of her concerts (I believe it was for chorus, not band) they did a presentation where they clapped, stomped their feet, rubbed their hands together and snapped fingers to create what sounded exactly like light rain starting out and growing into a thunderous storm, then fading away again.

  2. Look up Steve Hickman if you get a chance, his version of clapping music is really interesting to see and hear

  3. The ability to create a piece of music just by using your God-given instruments your hands amazes me. In high school, a group of girls used to step in the hallway it was pretty awesome to watch. If you have time you should search stop the yard =)
