insider reviews!

On our next adventure, we’re going to start off with Cornerstone Cafe — ideal for a warm summer day!

Cornerstone Cafe - Café in New York

Perfect spot to stop for brunch w/ the pals! Image Source

Cornerstone Cafe is located in the East Village, with a variety of breakfast, lunch, BRUNCH, and dinner options. Their interior is mostly black with bricks and some string lights strung from the ceiling — a perfectly rustic aesthetic!

My favorites include their brunch sandwiches and paninis! Along with that, make sure to pair your meal with one of their top-notch smoothies — a MUST during the summer 🙂

Next up is my absolute favorite burger place in all of New York City: BareBurger.

BareBurger is a chain restaurant, however, it definitely does not disappoint. Despite the plethora of restaurants to choose from in NYC, I visit BareBurger at least once a year… now that’s saying something.

For those who are familiar with Zinburger (I’m not sure if this is a New Jersey thing… LOL), BareBurger is extremely similar. Their mission is to use local, organic, all natural and sustainable ingredients whenever possible. In fact, each BareBurger location is built with reclaimed and recycled materials!

Honestly, I love everything on their menu but if you decide to visit them, here are some things you should definitely try:

  • a milkshake — they have so many different kinds, pick the one that you like best!
  • a burger (obviously) — they have several burgers on their menu, but you can always create your own as well! I would highly recommend trying one of their house sauces with your burger (my personal fav is habanero mayo)!
  • uptown fries — a fancy name for their truffle fries
  • brussel sprouts — unfortunately, I don’t think they have these on their menu anymore, but it used to be an appetizer. It was the perfect mix of crispy + seasoned… I’m honestly very upset they don’t offer it anymore 🙁
DŌ Cookie Dough Confections — Cookie Tour

Cookie dough or ice cream!? Image source

You can’t leave NYC without dessert! If you like to nibble on cookie dough when baking cookies, this is the perfect spot for you!

is the original edible cookie dough shop in New York City! I’ve never seen their shop without a line flooding out the door. They offer a variety of cookie dough flavors which range from sweet to salty; make sure you keep an eye out for their seasonal flavors as well!

I hope these eatzz have convinced you to start planning your next trip to NYC:)

4 Thoughts.

  1. Every time I read your blog I leave being so hungry. I have actually been to Do, and I really like their vibe. I usually get regular cookie dough with sprinkles; it’s a party in your mouth. I also have been to Zinburger before, so I think that I’d really like BareBurger. I need to try their uptown fries, for I love french fries of any kind. Overall, I am such a foodie, so all of this sounds delicious.

  2. I know it is midnight but you have my mouth watering, all that food sounds AMAZING! I have family in New York and I was supposed to go to NYC last March (exactly one year ago, oddly enough) but COVID made those plans change… However, now I am dying to make a trip to New York City to try some of the places you’ve talked about in your post! The edible cookie dough sounds delicious and I hope to try that ASAP!

  3. Can I start by saying not only do those pictures make me want to shove my face with food but also they are so aesthetically pleasing. I am sad to admit that the moment the waiter would put that food on my table, I would not hesitate to snap a picture and show everyone the beauty I was about to devour. That little cafe seems so sweet and wonderful, I would absolutely love to have a delicate brunch there someday with a glorious smoothie! Bare burger looks great as well! What really caught my eye and honestly may cause a road trip to occur very soon, is the cookie dough. I am a large cookie dough connoisseur and I want nothing more than to get my hands on one of those irresistible cones.

  4. These sound like some more great places to go to eat! It’s crazy how visiting the same restaurant once a year is often for you! I go to like only one restaurant. That’s really it. I would definitely be overwhelmed in New York City with all of the options! BareBurger sounds really cool! I really like how they are so committed to their mission, even down to constructing their buildings partly out of recycled materials. I would definitely want to check it out whenever I’m in New York City.
