For my passion blogs I have decided to talk about and analyze what makes me truly happy. Now I could’ve wrote about how much I love food and all the food in the world, but I am much more happy when I am laying in bed watching a good old Netflix show. With the choice of mainstream Netflix shows, I intend to delve deeper into what really the Netflix shows provide for the audience. For instance, what about these popular shows really make everyone so attached and so consumed that they would rather pound calories of food into their mouth and lay in bed instead of going outside and socializing. Everyone has their Netflix shows they love to watch, I tend to have around 44 shows I am engulfed in watching. In the vast amount of shows I watch, it has dawned on me that I get a certain ‘thing’ from each show. From this I believe as I look at each show from an outside in perspective, a lot of people also receive a sense of fulfillment by watching them. My main focus through these blog posts will be to analyze and put my perspective on why the most popular Netflix shows (out of all 44 of mine) are so highly watched and what appeals they give to their audiences.

Myranda, I think this is a great idea for your Passion Blog! Your genuine love for Netflix shows will make blogging less of a task and more of a creative and fun outlet for you. I think this topic will appeal to most of your audience as most people in the class watch Netflix shows.
44 shows wow! I’ll need some recommendations… This is such a good idea, I can tell you’re very passionate about it which will make writing about it less of a chore. It seems like you could use your own insights about these shows to discuss something bigger about humanity. For example, why do people like watching shows about murder? Is there a deeper psychological phenomenon within that? I’m excited to see what you come up with!
The culture that millennials have subscribed to around Netflix is evidence that they have tapped into commonplaces that resonate with us. It would be really cool to see the analysis of both why these shows are effective stress-relief and how they have become so ingrained within our culture.
