The vampier diaries is a tv show that has several elements to keep you wanting more. Through this series, we follow an innocent teenage girl who moved to a town called Mystic Falls. Mystery, love, danger, pain and excitement follow her wherever she goes. She encounters creatures; vampier, who seemingly aren’t so vicious to her. She ends up in a triangle of love with the two brother vampires (a 16 year old with an ancient dude…strange right). In her life at mystic falls, the story of Vampires, werewolves, and witches is revealed in a very encapsulating way that makes an audience not only fall in love with the story, but develop the hots for the ancient brothers and all the new friends she encounters. This tv show was so important to viewers and had such great ratings, a sister tv show came out called The Originals.

The sister show, The Originals, focuses on the same aspect of The Vampire Diaries, but more on a family of the first vampires that were created and the main story behind what went down. The Mikaelson siblings were the ones who couldn’t be killed and everyone took time trying, their mother cursed them and through this epic show many twists and turns happen. Through a long life they formed some serious enemies in all forms and the battles are endless. Hybrids of werewolf and vampires happen due to magical mishaps, there is an accidental pregnancy that stirs the pot, and lots of old people per say make an appearance . There are even overlays and episodes that correspond between this show and the previous show. In this show specifically, it is focused in New Orleans under control of vampires. From this show, the Tribrid (vampire, werewolf, witch) is born from one of the oldest vampires and a young cursed werewolf girl, from this the daughter is moved back to mystic falls to follow a final show called Legacies.

Finally, the last tv show that is ending the two previous, is Legacies. This show is still currently airing and focuses on the daughter who is living in a school created by the two ancient brothers from Vampire Diaries for the highly gifted–meaning this is a vampire, werewolf, and witch school. In this, the main character Hope is faced with new monsters and challenges she has to fight due to her parents both being dead. Surprise and the fore shadowing in this series seems to be a good indicator as to why people watch. Everyone loves a good sequel and a more thickened and juicy plot.
Overall, all these shows are ones I highly recommend considering the long hours I have spent watching these to experience a vampire saga that I have never really seen before. The continuation of each one is important and hard to do because I feel like the ideas would have ran out by now. But, as it is shown, the creators of this show have much more to give, and I will be happily laying in bed receiving.
I had never seen Vampire Diaries, but I have watched Twilight and this show reminded me of that vampire trilogy. I thought it was interesting how this TV show is a trilogy as well, given that Twighlight and Vampire Diaries have extremely similar plot concepts.
It’s really cool the way you made of these shows in this post fall under a common theme. Building on Kelli’s post, I am a Twilight fan as well and found the start of Vampire Diaries similar (it didn’t get through the series).
