Lucifer is an all-time favorite of mine and my boyfriends. We both watched this show together and somehow loved it as it fit both of our Netflix needs. Lucifer Morningstar has decided he’s had enough of being the dutiful servant in Hell and decides to spend some time on Earth to better understand humanity. He settles in Los Angeles – the City of Angels. This show includes a mystical aspect of religious-based ideology with the idea of Lucifer, demons, and more. But also has a bigger part where he is side by side with Detective Chloe in solving crime in the city. Lucifer is the owner of a club, while Chloe is a mom who fights crime every day. Lucifer meets her on a scene in the first episode and from there the rest is Netflix gold.
This series on Netflix, consists of four seasons and a new season is shortly coming out. Lucifer indulges in his favorite things (women, wine and song) and now murder crimes. Upon meeting Chloe, he becomes fascinated when his charm doesn’t work on her. She is almost immune to when he asks her what her deepest desires are. This interest Lucifer and creates an awe on why she has this ‘power’. He later notices that when he is around her, he is susceptible to becoming hurt. Which is not normal, as he is immortal and never feels pain.
Many of the audience engagement with this show stems from the love of crime-fighting shows, and the need for a new aspect which is the level of the devil and angels. Also the curiosity of what is Chloe? Is she an angel? Overall the ratings on this show are excellent. On rotten tomatoes, it is a 87% which is pretty good. On IMDB it is a 8.2/10 and on rating graph, it is a 8.8/10. This is a pretty solid rating base for a newly released show.
Netflix shows tend to be a bit better than most shows that are released and then Netlflix just puts on there. Lucifer is a prime example of this because it has a different and unique storyline. There is also a fair amount of comedy in this show as Lucifer starts off and continues to be very arrogant in many ways. The humor and setting for this show is mature as it incorporates many different things that require higher knowledge to understand.
Average this show is a 3.5/5 in ratings and shows through in each episode. I highly rate this show as it is one of my favorite series that has been put on Netflix. The fact that there have been four seasons and they haven’t released very curious questions that are floating around still. This keeps people wanting to return and figure out the mystery and also means this show will need to add more aspects of mystery to it in order to continue its highly promising storyline. I suggest this if you want something new, or if you just are curious. I recommend also watching the trailer as this trailer is more consistent with how the show is.
This sounds like an interesting show and I appreciate how you said that “many of the audience engagement with this show stems from the love of crime-fighting shows” because I do enjoy crime shows, myself, so perhaps I would like “Lucifer” as well.
I’ve never heard of this show, but it sounds extremely interesting! Right now I’m working on Parks and Rec and Tiger King, but once I’m done I’ll definitely check it out. I love crime shows.
