MAMAMOO Solar
To become a trainee, you must put in a lot of hard work and devotion.
Since it’s simpler to develop trainees’ skills for a respectable period of time and they will have lengthier careers, K-pop companies have a propensity to debut singers as young as possible. Middle school learners are frequently identified and accepted after auditions. Even idols who are 13 to 16 years old will occasionally make their debut nowadays.
That being said, it is uncommon for an agency to give a contract to a person who is older than 18 years old. But when Mamamoo’s Solar signed as a trainee at RBW Entertainment in 2011, she was already 20. Since making her K-pop debut in 2014, Solar, together with Mamamoo’s other members Moonbyul, Wheein, and Hwasa, has put out three studio albums, 11 EPs, and 25 lead singles.
Solar recently uploaded the “Draw My Life” video on her YouTube account, in which she provided additional information about her life before making her K-pop idol debut. It turned out that she never had any interest in becoming a singer. Solar once spoke about the initial time someone suggested her to pursue an idol career. Someone from the music industry happened to hear the girl singing at one of the street gatherings. Later, that person got in touch with her and recommended to try her hand at singing.
Solar turned down the offer since she had an ambition of becoming a flight attendant at the time. But after a while, the girl realized that this occupation wasn’t right for her, so she reluctantly decided to give singing another shot. Solar started attending auditions (she attended more than 50 auditions), but she failed them all despite her lovely vocals and passable acting abilities.
After several failures, Solar’s parents had had enough. They gave her one final opportunity, one final audition; at the age of 20, Solar was finally able to succeed and join her current agency, Rainbow Bridge World (RBW).
In 2022, Solar acclaims as one of the best primary vocalists in the third generation of K-pop, earning everyone’s respect.
Fans laud her commitment to hard work, claiming that her willingness to try various activities and achieve no matter what makes them proud of her constantly. The journey Solar took to become a K-pop star is a powerful reminder to never give up and go after whatever you truly desire, even if it seems impossible at the time.

This is such an inspiring story. I love hearing stories like this where people finally get to pursue their dreams after thinking it may not be possible for them because they are so inspiring to me.
