When you think of Disney, you probably think of Magic Kingdom. You think of Cinderella’s castle lighting up the night, or at least that is what I think of. I picture walking down Mainstreet USA and being stuck in the crowd trying to take pictures at the castle. Mainstreet USA , if you were wondering, is the street you walk onto when you walk into Magic Kingdom. I remember as a child when we would park in the lot that my dad used to say that by the time we walked into the park we have gone on two rides, the tram and the monorail. That is one of the funniest things because as a child I actually believed that this was true that the monorail was an actual ride. However, we are not talking about that today, we are talking about one particular restaurant in Magic Kingdom, Tony’s Town Square Restaurant.
Tony’s Town Restaurant is nothing special. It is themed after “Lady and the Tramp” meaning that it is an Italian restaurant. Shockingly, Magic Kingdom doesn’t have the biggest selection of restaurants for families as picky as mine. I pick out the restaurants for our trips, so I assumed that everyone liked Italian. I wish I knew how wrong I was.
We got to Tony’s and had to wait about twenty minutes which isn’t horrible but it wasn’t great after being at the park the whole day. We ordered and everything was going fine and dandy until my little sister who was eleven at the time decided that she could not use a fork or a spoon and could only eat with her fingers. Obviously, that is not appropriate and my mom did not approve. My mom thought that if the pasta was cut into smaller pieces my little sister would just eat it with a spoon. Oh how wrong she was. My little sister agreed to have the spaghetti cut but then immediately changed her mind after the pasta was cut. This resulted in my little sister having what I like to call a major hissy fit. She refused to eat her food and said that it was all ruined. This went on for way longer than I would have liked but eventually it was resolved. We were able to convince her to eat the meatballs that she previously refused to eat.
Based on my experience, Tony’s is not a place that I would recommend. However, if you are looking for good Italian food in Magic Kingdom, Tony’s is a great option. Hopefully for you, my little sister won’t be there lurking in the corner complaining about my mom cutting her spaghetti.
