This Is All of Us-A Community’s Stories of Violence, Loss, and Love
“This is All of Us” invites residents and others in Reading and Muhlenberg to share your stories of how violence in the community has impacted your life directly and/or indirectly. These include violence’s visible and invisible wounds. For example, some residents will have experienced the loss of a loved one through violence, and others will have survived violence. Some may worry about their child’s walk to and from school every day, while others may be fearful of their spouse working in a school with incidents of violence. Some may be dedicating their time to preventing violence. Youth and teens may share stories of feeling unsafe in school and playgrounds. Others may describe how they challenge and overcome those fears to create a future they desire. You will share your story your way.
Sharing stories of the human side of violence has the potential to generate change. Through storytelling, individuals impacted by violence may begin to heal, and their words and stories can impact the communities in which they live.
“”This is All of Us- A Community’s Stories of Violence, Loss, and Love” is part of Not One More: A Peace and Justice Project. “Not One More” represents the profound hope that Not One More youth, teen, or adult will be lost to violence.
The story project is facilitated by Laurie Grobman, professor of English at Penn State Berks.
These stories will be shared publicly in many ways.
