The Corner Room

“One of the best restaurants in town,” people say. The corner is just downtown, by CVS, looking all mysterious with its oldy look. It seems incredibly fancy, and supposedly when parents are here or if it’s a busy weekend, it is hard to make reservations. Suggestion, go on a weekday; we literally just walked in, and they sat us down.

Overall, the place has nice food, but I want to go back and see if I will have the same unpleasant experience. It has a limited menu, and apart from that, I went on a Friday at 2:45 pm, and they still had the brunch menu; no clue why. Also, the waiter was lowkey rushing us. It was not the vibe. Honestly, I’m probably a bit salty just because my friend and I wanted the ribs that weren’t on the brunch menu; they sounded delicious. Our whole excitement was about the ribs until we got there and saw that it wasn’t on the menu.

Disregarding the cons, which were plenty, it did have pros. I ate a Smoked Turkey sandwich, which was 15 dollars, a bit pricy for a sandwich, but it’s okay for a one-time thing. It was good, even though I had to upgrade the fries so they weren’t bagged potato chips. The sandwich consisted of turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, herb aioli, and sourdough bread with a side of chips, and of course, as the picky eater I am, I had to take out the lettuce and tomato.

Although I did order the most basic thing, my friend had a Smoked Salmon Frittata, which was 13 dollars. He surprisingly really enjoyed his food; he ate it all except for the bagged potato chips. His problem with the place was the rush the waiter was putting on us. Eating at a place where they are rushing you was not ideal, and even less when he hates when people do that.

We liked the food, but I think the waiter was just a bit too much; she probably came every five minutes to rush. Although we do have our complaints about the place, I want to go back to see if I have the same problem since it was good food and I did have a good time going with a friend. I do recommend the place because it is good food, but I find it is too overhyped.

Anyways, in conclusion, a good place to go with friends and have decent food, just maybe not a great place to go sit down and take your time after classes.

Frankly, this is the second to last blog post, and I am kind of sad. This has become a safe place to relax, unwind, and write about something I love, eating. I hope we will do something like this again, and I hope you guys liked blogging as much as I did. With this being said, I hope you have a fantastic day or night, whichever it may be, and see you in the next craving!
